About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Who we are

Gospel Tabernacle is a church that has grown to become a cornerstone for many, not only in north central Pennsylvania but also across the nation. This community of believers has a heart to see the lost and broken, healed and restored by the power of Jesus Christ. We know that we were all far from God, but there is hope found in Jesus. We want as many people as possible to experience that freedom.

Where we came from

While the roots of our church go back to the 1950’s, we have seen steady growth throughout the last 60+ years. It all started in the “Basement” sanctuary on West Street in Coudersport. Since then we have moved on to the multi-building site that we currently call home. Gospel Tabernacle has always been known for a strong prophetic movement. Many people throughout the years have traveled from a great distance to receive, and be encouraged by the Word of the Lord.

Where we're headed

More than ever, Gospel Tabernacle is committed to reaching our community with the love of God. As we move forward as a church family, loving people remains at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.

Our Vision: Love God, Love People, Heal Our World

Love God

We were created, to have a close personal relationship with God… He loves us! In fact, He doesn’t just love us, He is absolutely CRAZY about us. Our love for God is born out of His love for us. At Gospel Tabernacle we want people to experience the unconditional love of God so that they can share it with others.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 4:19 - We love Him, because He first loved us.

Love People

No matter what you've been through or what questions you might have about God and faith, Gospel Tabernacle is a place where you'll find the love, grace, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone. People matter to God so they matter to us, every race and every condition. He commands us to love others as He has loved us. When you learn to love people without judgement, true healing can begin.

John 13:34 - “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Heal Our World

Jesus came to seek and save the lost, but He didn’t just save us from something. He saved us for something. Following Jesus means going out into our world, loving our neighbor, and making a difference. Each of us gifted with a unique purpose given by God that can only be discovered in the context of community. At Gospel Tabernacle we want to help you find that purpose and unleash it. To heal our families, our communities, and our world.

Luke 19:10 - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Romans 12:5-6 - So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.

2 Corinthians 5:18 - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

What this means for you

What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Gospel Tabernacle. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the family. We know that now more than ever, people are searching for the truth and a place to belong. At the Gospel Tabernacle we want everyone who walks through our doors for a church service or community event to know that they have found a place that they can call home.
